As the co-author with Bill Zehme, of the original THE BOB BOOK: A Celebration of the Ultimate Okay Guy (Dell 1991 -- a palindromic year, just like Bob), I'd like to welcome Tom Crisp to Bob World. he's no one but Bob (with the exception of the occasional Robert "Bob" for professional reasons). Nice of him to use our book as the source of some quotes. However, and this is just a small niggle, as our book says and proves, Bob is NOT Robert, Rob, Robb, Bobby, Robby. Just to keep the mythology consistent, I'd have preferred more Bob -- which is not to say that you won't find this book wholly enjoyable. Roberts et al aren't dummies after all, and at least 25% eventually become Bobs.
He's conducted a lot of research and dug up the most memorable and not-so-memorable quotes from guys named Bob, Robbie, Robby, Bobby, Robert, etc. If you have a Bob in your life - friend, partner, relative - then this is the book for you. Rather than ugly neckties, ill-fitting shirts, and golf balls, how about this book by Tom Crisp. and compiled them into one volume.
